Insider Tip

💡 Motorbike

Rent a motorbike (150–200 THB/day) on day one - Pai is small enough to walk but the canyon, hot springs and waterfalls all require transport. International licence technically required; bring your passport. Wear a helmet. The mountain roads to get to Pai from Chiang Mai have 762 bends.

From the Founders

Nick

"Pai is one of those places that gives you the feeling of having found something. The vibe is halfway between a hippie town and a Thai village - it shouldn't work but it does. I went for three days and stayed for three weeks."
